Whitevale Christmas Craft Show

Whitevale Christmas Craft Show

The Whitevale Christmas Craft Show is a successful event that began nearly 15-years ago, thanks to Whitvale residents Judy Friedl and Anna Willson. It is typically held in the Community Centre in late November/early December. The Craft Show is now run by local resident Betty Elleker and features a number of very talented local artisans. Please note, this is a small, local craft show run by local Whitevale residents.

Whitevale's Pumpkin Carving Competition and Exhibition - Residents are asked to carve pumpkins that will be lit up and displayed along the bridge sidewalk for all to see on Halloween, making for a great photo opportunity.

Corn Roast Annual Corn Roast

At the end of each summer, the Whitevale Church hosts its annual Corn Roast. Although ownership of the church has recently changed hands, the church has maintained the tradition. Although the usual BBQ sausages have given way to souvlaki, corn-on-the-cob and delicious desserts are still on the menu.

Every spring, at the end of May, the residents of Whitevale run and participate in the annual Whitevale Spring Festival. Primarily run by the Whitevale and District Residents' Association, the festival is open to all members of the community as well as people all over the region. The festival includes many events and attractions. Past festivals have included a caravan that sells ice cream, old-fashioned games, a book sale, a bake sale, a tea garden, a beer tent, a barbecue, artisans and live local music, a jumping castle, face-painting, and sheep-shearing.

Some residents of Whitevale take part in this city-wide program by sharing their historic buildings with the public. The sites that were on display during the last event included the Whitevale Schoolhouse, St. Joseph of Arimathea Orthodox Church, Herongate Barn Theatre, and the Caspar Willson House. This event allows you to discover some historic sites you would otherwise never get a chance to see!

Whitevale Winter Blah's Festival

Whitevale Winter Blah's

The Whitevale Winter Blah's Festival is a local get-together of Whitevale's residents in the middle of winter. Neighbours gather at the Community Centre for family fun in the snow, skating, broom ball, etc. People also take this opportunity to share their delicious homemade desserts, soup, chilli, etc.
