Whitevale Spring Festival - Saturday May 26, 2012

The festival is held at the Whitevale Community Centre and is open to everyone and includes many events and attractions. Past festivals have included a caravan that sells ice cream, old-fashioned games, a book sale, a bake sale, a tea garden, a beer tent, a barbecue, artisans and live local music, a jumping castle, face-painting, and sheep-shearing.

MOVIE SHOOT IN WHITEVALE

A made-for-TV movie is being shot on North Road in Whitevale. The movie is called " An Officer and a Murderer: The Russell Williams Story ".

Synopsis: Colonel Russell Williams, decorated Air Force Fighter Pilot, Wing Commander of CFB Trenton, pilot to Queens and Prime Ministers and husband of the director of a national charity led an unimaginable double life.

Beginning in September 2009, William began an escalating string of late night break and enters at first stealing intimate women’s apparel and rapidly escalating to sexual assault, kidnapping and finally the murder of Air Force Flight Attendant Cpl. Marie France Comeau, 38, and then 27 year-old civilian Jessica Lloyd.

In the tradition of Silence of the Lambs, The Boston Strangler and In Cold Blood, An Officer and a Murderer will be an unforgettable and terrifying glimpse into the mind of a brilliant and soulless predator and a testament to the police department that ended his reign of terror.
